What is the best way of creating a method of instantly buying a product without using what is in the shopping cart? I want a sort of buy now button that will take you directly to paypal with the unit price being displayed there and the transaction data being sent back to Zen for my records.

Firstly I thought I could create one by altering what I already had from the paypal IPN payment module but I couldn't display the unit price in paypal.

Then I thought the paypal express checkout could help me but I couldn't get to paypal directly from the product info page or display the unit price in paypal.

Since then I have tried to set-up the buy now button via paypal itself but cannot receive any data from them about any transactions that may take place.

Does anyone have an answer to this one: creating a button that takes the user directly to paypal from the product info page, shows the price of the product on paypal and sends the data back to Zen for my records????

It is one of those that should be relatively simple but most of us know they seldom are.

At this time, I cannot think of a way without some kind of checkout being done ... and updating your records in the database for your Zen Cart shop ...

If you come up with a handy dandy re-write ... do let us know ...

thanks for the response I am currently resigned to the buy now button created in paypal without receiving info back but will let you know if I do anything miraculous >> meanwhile hope lays in any new versions of zen coming <<
