Can't edit "define_main_page.php"

Ok this is really odd.

I am unable to edit my define_main_page.php file whether through ftp or through admin. I have all my folders set to 755 and all files set to 444. I know I have to change the file permission to edit it or upload to it through ftp but neither one of the methods seems to affect my file.

any ideas?

OK update

The file is being changed, it's just not displaying for some reason.

Can that be enabled/disabled in admin somewhere? I may have disabled it by accident or something.

No, if the file was changed it should be displaying. Are you sure you changed the 'right' define_main_page.php (the one for the current template)? Have you cleared your browser cache? If this is the /teststore we're talking about, I'm seeing a 'd' followed by a lot of hyphens.
