    Default Patch Issue or Not?

    Hi all,

I am coming up with a blank page on a site that I had thought that I had properly applied the security patch. I ran the debugging php file and came up with this error:

PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zen_js_zone_list() in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/includes/functions/html_output.php on line 159

It seems similar to a couple posted here recently:

[25-Jun-2009 09:09:45] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zen_js_zone_list() (previously declared in /home/XXXX/public_html/shop/includes/functions/functions_general.php:1418) in /home/XXXX/public_html/shop/includes/functions/html_output.php on line 195

but my error code is missing the following:

    (previously declared in /home/XXXX/public_html/shop/includes/functions/functions_general.php:1418)

Is my error simply because I had replaced the wrong html_output.php file? (If so, just go over the instructions again, right?)

    ZC version 1.3.8a and thanks!

Sounds like you updated the non-admin version of the html_output.php file, contrary to the instructions.
You'll have to put back the working version of the non-admin file, and then properly patch the admin version of the file.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Rats...thought I had it right when I did the update.

Are there instructions on how to reverse the damage or should I simply reverse the instructions that I thought I had followed for doing the patch?

As I said, you need to put the original /includes/functions/html_output.php file back (using your backup that you made before patching), and you need to put the new /[admin-folder-name]/includes/functions/html_output.php file from the patch.

The 2 files share the same name, and similar folder structure, but their contents are VERY different.

Oh great...ok...this is going to sound really boneheaded but I did a full backup from the server before I did the patch. I just unzipped that backup but I cannot find the html_out.php file.

I even thought I had downloaded a copy of it and placed it by itself in a folder as insurance for just this sort of thing!

Okay, how about a backup from before that? or before that? or before that? (That's why you keep frequent regular backups, right!)
Or maybe from the original copy of that file from the original set of Zen Cart files for your version of Zen Cart?

Good point! I have a backup from April! Let me check that.

    Edit:

I don't understand this! I downloaded and unzipped that and still there is no file! I have another ZC site and I've got tons of html_output.phps from that site...at least half a dozen!

And, no, I don't have the original install files. I may just ask the hosting company to upload the "full backup".

Look! There's a fly! Get the cannon!

Just download Zen Cart to your computer, unzip the files, and upload the one file. 'Tis a good idea to have the files close at hand anyway.

    LOL!

Actually, I found an install of the site elsewhere and am working my way through the file structure. Just about to download the old file.

Woohoo! It worked! Thanks to my wife who put in a copy of that site in a sub-directory of her own site.
