Problem with Date Available products

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with the products that are not in stock right now, but will be at a specified date.
My problem is that the product that is not yet in stock can checkout.

On the product page is writed... The product will be... but the product can be added to the cart and checkout withowt problems.

I need the product to be displayed but to sold out until the specified date. Another posibility can be to allow checkout, but to inform the customer about the availibility of the product.

Can anyone help me with this?

At this time, Products that are Upcoming Products are still able to be ordered, if the Product Quantity is <= 0 and you have Sold Out enabled ...

You could do several things for these products, once you determine if you want to allow these Upcoming Products to be purchased ...

But you sound as if you have not decided whether to allow these Upcoming Products to be sold or not ... which way do you want it to be?

I think I understand what you mean. It is not obvious that the product is on it's way and I would like to show the product without a "sold out" sign but rather as just an upcoming product without an add-to-cart button.

Since I was not using the "call for price" feature in my store I changed the image to "coming soon" and it now displays both the price and the "coming soon" symbol without an add to cart button. Maybe this could be a feature in the future?

Coming Soon was actually something I wrote a long long time ago and forgot to add to Zen Cart ...

One of these days it will get back in it ...

Since you are able to purchase a product before it is actually in stock, basically a pre-buy, where can I change the wording to state something to the effect of

"This product will be in stock on Sunday 06 September, 2009. You may chose to pre-purchase it and it will ship on that date."

and also move the line up so it would be above the "add to cart"

For changing language files or code and locating text, code etc. ... the Developers Tool Kit is your friend ...

Go to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter something you are looking for such as:
This product will be in stock

Now, select the Catalog ... and click Search ...

This will locate for you all files that have this ...

NOTE: be sure to use your templates and overrides for changes ...
