Super newbie, completely lost

So, honestly I am all new to this, I just want to be able to customize my website business to sell hundreds of different items. I have NO idea how to work this thing or even where to start. I am good with a computer, but this is all jibberish and too confusing. I am sticking with it because it is free. Where can I learn the very, very, very basics of setting this up and actually working this program? The picture posted is as far as I got, and as far as I can do. That is my starting point.

Might start here, sure it not free but it take a lot of the confusion away. Pretty much a step by step manual.
If your going to sell 100's of items then this will be a great investment for you.

What's your actual question? Are you trying to work locally? I'm not really familiar with that, but that's what it looks like to me. Search the forum, the Tutorials/FAQ and Wiki for information on setting Zen Cart up to work locally.

The Tutorials/FAQ is chock full on information on setting up a custom template (aka the override system), products, shipping, taxes and all other matter of using Zen Cart.

Take a deep breath and don't try to learn it all at once.

Basically:

1. Buy the book - it's a step by step giude.
2. Set it up on your local machine.
3. Go nuts on it - once you make your initial back up. test and change everything on your local - do everything right/wrong whatever - no one sees it but you. Then, once you are confident you know what you are doing see step 4
4. Start to configure your local so to can set up your live store.

Zen-Cart is the easiest thing to use - just be patient - step 1 & 3 above is where you will learn the most of it.
