back up mysql

I'm not sure where to post this question so I'm putting it here:

- how do I back-up mysql databases? -

I believe that when I upgrade I will need the databases as they were.. although correct me if I'm wrong!

There's a Backup MySQL mod in the free software add-ons area. You web host will also have provided some backup option, possibly through phpMyAdmin and/or through cPanel, but you'd need to ask them about that.
