Thanks DrByte and Kuroi. I have Wise FTP to hand and have just found that it has a sceduled tasks tool that I was unaware of - for the time being I will do as DrByte suggests because this does not have the facility to sync two folders serverside - will definately look this 'Beyond Compare' up as a more permanent solution.
