Default Getting ready for my first Zen-Cart!

Now I'm confident I can do this though I have no great php experience.

Is my best bet to set the store up to work how we want first and then worry about the pretty side like changing templates etc?

Absolutely. Get you cart running properly first, including the products, and shipping and payment modules, then start changing the template.

My two cents worth of advice -

Pencil everything out on paper before you delve in. Get your categories and subcategories straight and figure out all your (define and ez) pages and their text. What do you need now to get the site launched and what can you add later as the site matures.

Yeah, things will change - they always do - but the better thought out the layout, flow and content of your website initially, the easier it is to work on prettying it up later.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

I'll give my wife the job of planning how she wants it all to look and I'll look after the how it works.
