Features in the main header

Hello All. Thanks for the forum.

I just can't figure out how to get a few things added in my main header. I want to be able to have a search bar, login and cart in that area above my navigation bar. I've been trying for days and have found others who have the problems but when I try their solutions it doesn't work for me. I may have a back end issue but I just can't figure it out.

The site needs work!! I've decided to go top down with fixes and then dump the products in.
