New Products - Front Page?

Im a bit confused.

When I add new products to my store they dont appear on my front page with all the other new products.

Right now my front page says "New Products for August" yet it is showing products that were added a while ago and not the products that I have recently added.

What am I doing wrong?

I searched the forums but found no answer.

Hi

Are they in the same category as the others that are showing? If not are they in an active category? meaning do they have a green button next to the category they are listed in, admin>catalog>categories/products?

yes all the items are in active categories.

Have you checked Admin>Configuration>Maximum Values>New Products Listing...Limited To>

Check the settings there.. ???

ok that was set to 0
I c hanged it to 60

but shouldnt that not matter really? I would think that the newest items would be displayed first?

also, I cant find where to change how many columns of new products there is. I have 2.. I want to change it to 3... ive been looking high and low. I am missing seeing where to change this.

Have a look under Admnin>Configuration>Index Listing>New Products Colums Per Row.
