Hi,

I currently run a site that offers free shipping on orders over a certain value (£10) to the UK and the rest of Europe. Now, this is fine for my current product range as the weight to price ratio allows me to afford free postage.

I am thinking of adding a new product range that is low price to weight ratio. Meaning that i cannot give free shipping outside of the UK on this product range.

The only solution i can come up with (short of writing a new site just for this product range or refusing to sell outside of the UK (silly solution)) is to list all products that are free shipping at 0 weight. The new range of products list as their actual weight. Then set all my UK weight based calculations for postage to zero cost. (enables free post to the UK still) Whilst allowing international to utilise weight based postage calculations and set default postage for zero weight to no cost.

Would this work as such then for an international customer:

1. Customer buys the old free post items (listed as zero weight) = free postage.

2. Customer buys new products (listed as having a weight value) = postage calculated by weight of products.

3. Customer buys a mix of old products (zero weight listed) and new products (weight listed) = Charged for postage based only on the weight of the new products.

Or could i be missing a much simpler solution??

Thankyou for your time.
