    Default godaddy install possible error

Okay, so I use godaddy and they do an auto install of ZenCart.
Everything was working great unitl I tried to change the "Sales Message Goes Here" and "Congratulations! You have....."
The header.php and index.php must have been corrupted or corroded, or whatever cause the changes would not take place.
I would download the header.php and then just drop the last "s" off of the word Sales, leaving Sale, and the whole page would freak out.

So I went to the sourcegorge site, and downloaded the entire Zencart to my C:\ drive. Then I uploaded a new header.php, made an edit, and finally it worked correctly. I was about to give up on the Zen...

So I'm thinkin' maybe godaddy has some flaw in the install that "someone" should check out.

    Thanks,

When I right click on the file, and choose the edit command, it automatically opens in WordPad. So that's what I use to edit, then just hit the save icon, and then upload.

    Suggestions?

Ah, that's the problem. You need a good text editor and wordpad isn't that.

Download Notepad++ from Sourceforge. There are others but that's what I use.

    And remember to make backups!

Thanks, I'm checking it out now. In the past, I had used the free Notepad that comes with computers, but got lazy and let the default Wordpad open the fiels.

Is this Notepad++ really more appropriate than the standard NotePad that comes with MS-Windows?

It's a dedicated progamming editor. You'll have far less errors and false starts using it.

Thanks again, btw, checked out your sites - nice.
Are those templates available, or did you create?

    Thanks.
Both are the iC_Acadame template - should be available to
download from Kuroi's (sorry, site offline) site.
