Products NOT categories

Hi, i would like to have my products on the navigation with no categories, how do i do this?

basically i dont want the user to have to click on the category before they see certain products, i just want to show all my products on the navigation...i hope this makes sense ad that someone can help

You can have products without categories, but then you can't have ANY categories at all. You can't mix them on the same level.

What you can do is put each product in its own category (named the same as the product), and set Configuration > Layout Settings > Skip 1-prod Categories to true.

Then the categories will show in the sidebox, but they will look like the products, and when you click one it will go straight to the product info page.

In the current version of Zen Cart you can put products straight into the top category. However, Zen Cart 2.0 uses a different algorithm for traversing the category tree and is likely to have a problem if there isn't one.

I'd recommend creating a category called products anyway, and putting all your products in there and turning of the categories sidebox and category tabs. I assume that you will be presenting a small number of products and using direct links to them.

Alternatively, Glenn's suggestion is a good one if you want easy navigation to the products.
