I also notice that I do not have a zc_install folder. As I said this is a copy of an existing working site that I have to work on, so whoever has worked on it so far must have removed it I guess?

OK, I finally fixed the issue last night, it was due to missing / in path information, always something silly with me. Anyway thank you for help in tracking it down!
