Still searching - how do I change this text?

I have been searching for days and now put my faith in zenners. I am kind new to zen and really like it but am trying to help a friend with a problem. I am trying to edit the home page text at the bottom right. I assume it's the footer. There is an external link that needs to be edited and I can't find the text to edit. It's next to the words "Copyright". Where would I find it. I have checked every file and searched for the word and nothing. HELP!!

Check for FOOTER_TEXT_BODY in includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php (where YOUR_TEMPLATE is the name of your custom template).

That should be located in:

includes/languages/your template/english.php

I agree that is where I am supposed to find it but no luck. Do I need to edit it from the cpanel or admin area? I even tried to do a search for the words and lo luck. Where am I missing it?

You would download (FTP) the file to your local computer, edit it with a good text editor like Notepad++ or Crimson Editor) and then FTP it back to your site.

Exactly what text are you trying to change?

I have tried to edit with the editor in the file maniger in the cpanel and also have dreamweaver for ftp and html editing. I want to change the link at the bottom right of the page. It starts with copyright. Also I may want to change the look and logo of the main page. How would I do that? I have tried to open the main.php files but have had no luck.

Since you aren't editing HTML, Dreamweaver isn't the best thing to use. Neither is the editor in CPanel. You need a good text editor and an FTP client. You can get Filezilla (FTP client), Notepad++ (editor) or Crimson Editor (editor) free on the net.

This is the value you want to edit and the file that contains it:

Is it Me?? I used filezilla to locate the site and looked in public/includes/languages/(only 2 files here. classic and english) nothing but ini.php in the classic file. in the english folder there is a folder "theme114" I am assuming this is the template file. No footer file here? I have looked in all the files I can find and still no luck.

I can't see anything in the image. It's far too small - at least on this machine.

You must have includes/languages/english.php or your site won't work. Copy that file to includes/languages/theme114/ so you'll end up with includes/languages/theme114/english.php and make your changes there. The text you're trying to locate is in the english.php file.
