Installation Firefox Issue

Apologies for the late response; if I do as you ask, I get directed to the zen cart installation dialog window - its when I try to save the database settings as part of the installation when I get the message from Firefox regarding the index.php file.

No, my apologies for not getting this far earlier. You did say in your first post but we just needed to check that we were good up to that point.

Yes it is strange. Firefox is evidently coping with other files on the local server. So, why does it throw a paddy when it gets to this one?

I wonder what you entered as the path to your root folder during the installation? It is like Zen Cart is using the direct path to index.php rather than the local server path. It is a while since I did an installation at all so I can't remember the process completely.

I do remember that I had problems with the database user and had to give root privileges to zen for some reason.

If you continue to have problems I'll do a new install on the local server and see if I can repeat what you are getting.

Just to let you know I *solved* the problem - I was using the latest version of Xampp and the installation notes at the Zen Cart site clearly states that there are issues with PHP 5.3 and Zen Cart (to be sorted by release 1.3.9) - I used an earlier version of Xampp and everything installed ok.
