changing default page in my account

In the 'my account' pages would anyone happen to know how to change which page is the default page?? - this is the first page displayed on linking to 'my account' and the page it goes to on submitting information, e.g. updating data in the 'profile'. Currently it is on the 'show orders' page - maybe there is something in the admin.. preferably so.. if not a re-coding.

The default My Account page is main_page=account ... which is the page where you have a brief display of your last 3 orders, a link to your full order history, and links to change your account profile details.
There is no admin-switch to change that behavior.

thanks for the response Dr. Would you know the filename that should be edited in order to change the default to main_page=account_edit ??

That depends what you mean by "default".
When I said "default" earlier, I was referring to the fact that the "My Account" link in the header navigation menu points to main_page=account.
If you want to change that, feel free to manually edit your template accordingly.

If you have My Account links elsewhere on your site, you'll need to manually edit those similarly as well.

Yes - I've already changed the 'my account' link to the 'edit profile' page ... what I was meaning is the page that it is sent to when updating data in the 'profile' for example - it seems strange updating info on the 'edit profile' page and on submitting being sent to the 'view orders' page.

The "main_page=account" page DOES show the last 3 orders on-screen.

Making edits to something like the email address will naturally return you to the main_page=account screen when you click Save. And, that screen will show the last 3 orders summary at the top. That's by design.
