Default Confusion adding Stat Counter to my site

Ok, so I have done stat counter in other sites before, not hard to do..but I put the code in the bottom of the Main page under define page editor, and it counted me and then stopped working. I don't have my IP address blocked or anything. What's going on? Any ideas? I tried another code but no luck. I know nothing about SSL btw, in case there are suggestions on that. Please help, thanks.

    Put it in /public_html/index.php

    After <?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_bottom.php'); ?>

Make sure there is no white spaces/empty lines after your Statcounter code.

    Hey dropbob

I'm always keen to have a look at a bit of lingerie, but when I click your signature link, I get:-
