Check Admin - Configuration - My Store - Store Status - should be '0'.

    HI

Don't know what you have done to lock yourself out of any changes, but you can still make changes in your admin via your phpmyadmin, look to your configuration table>store status.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for that I will give that a go. Just discovered that other areas of admin are also not changing for example if I try to make changes in the Layout boxes controller it allows me to make the change but when you press update it does not make the change. Baffled as to what has happened

    Hi

It sounds as if you may have a file issue, check that all of the files were uploaded during installation and also if you have edited any of the core files, check that you may have made an error of some sort.

Check these out and come back to us.

    Thanks

Another thing to check for regarding missing "Add to cart" buttons:

Double-check Admin>Catalog>Product Types. If the type your product falls under is not marked "Y" under the "Add to cart" field, the button will not appear. In retrospect, this sounds like a no-brainer, but I don't know whether it's set to "Y" by default, or if you're like me, you might've set it to "N" from the beginning for security reasons.
