fresh Zen Cart Installation

Good Morning,

I am trying to install Zen Cart on my PC so i can work on developing the shopping cart.

If i am not mistaken, i will need some sort of Server Envoroment on my PC in order to work on my Shopping Cart... where can i get it, and what are my options?

Is there some sort of "newb" guide i could refer to in order to go through first steps of installation? I am sure i am not the first one who've asked this question.

There are a number of packages that you can install on your local PC to create a database and web server in which you can develop your Zen Cart, before final deployment to a public server.

XAMPP is commonly favoured since it can be run on Windows, MAC and LINUX PCs. WAMP is restricted to Windows and MAMP to Macs. All can be downloaded for free and provide installation instructions.

Once you have one installed your Zen Cart can added by following the installation instructions that come in the docs folder of your Zen Cart release package and ignoring references to domains and FTP.
