Layout troubles in Internet Explorer (works fine in Firefox)

I couldn't find an answer to my question in relevant categories on this forum... I apologize if it has been addressed elsewhere.

My website shows up just fine in Firefox, however, all layout, fonts, and coloring seem to be ignored by both Internext Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 8. Is there some sort of over-ride I can try?

This site has been online for about 2 years now. I haven't noticed this kind of problem before with IE except for once it occured for maybe a few hours, but then resolved itself.

I added the recommended security patches about 1 month ago... would they have caused some change? or would this be an issue I need to address with my webhost?

My web host cannot add the "Limit" keyword to the AllowOverrides parameter of your domain's vhost configuration in their server's httpd.conf settings file.

I tried changing the name of the /includes/.htaccess file to ".httaccess_OFF" but that made no difference. The layout of my admin area have not been affected.

Any other ideas?

Hello again. I fixed the problem by comparing various template files with the original version of zen-cart and found that there was a missing "/>" (without the quotes) in the includes/templates/templates_default/common/html_header.php file. I added those 2 characters back to the file and the Internet explorer problem was fixed.

Couldn't say how those characters went missing, but I thought I'd pass on the answer in case someone else runs into this sort of problem.
