Although my User Agent setting is set to false in sessions but if it works for them why not us?
Tonight I have tried several things including disabling https, still no joy.
I vistited lots and lots of the sites listed in "Live Showcase Shops" and only found two stores where PayPal returns to the correct page (easiest way to check is to click Cancel and Return to... on the first PayPal page). Clicking this should take you to the CheckOut page where you can chose to log in/ create account/ use Paypal. It does this in IE7, IE8 (full compatibility Mode) and FireFox.
With IE8 running in IE8 mode, your session is lost, the cart disapears and you are redirected to the Login page.
As Windows 7 release is just around the corner, IE8 is going to become quite popular and this problem will cost people a lot of sales.
I have put a warning on my site asking people to enable Compatibility Mode, but this seems so unprofessional, especially on a brand new site.
Before tonight I thought it was possibly something that I had done to break the cart but finding that the problem is so widespread, I'm surprised that the forum isn't inundated with requests for help.
Thanks in advance :)
Barry
I am already loosing alot of business because of this and maybe some people don't know about this.... YET??
Switching to compatibility mode
Tools
Compatibility View Settings
Display all websites in Compatibility View
I think this is what you mean right??
Shame there is not a code to enable this on page visit ....
I am still getting the Paypal Express reports from customers.
They are telling me everyday that they are not able to complete transactions due to timeout.
When I question further I find that Internet Explorer 8 is a major part in this....
It is something that is causing a lot of business to dissapear or get frustrated and this can't be good.
Magento works find once User agent is disbaled....
What can Zen Cart do to solve this problem....???
I will be moving away very soon if this is not solveable, I can'r believe more people aren't on forums making comments about it or atleast trying to find out what is going on.....
please take a look at the site and see for yourself...... www.simonbbc.com/automotiveshop
I was really hoping by now that someone would have an answer for this thread... I'm having the same issue with Google Checkout... and I've noticed that both PayPal and GC people are posting about it, with very few answers. I'm about ready to pay someone to come in and take over with the payment module.![]()
Hi there - I am having the same problem and it is serious. Someone here at Zen with knowledge of coding has to fix this urgently - we are losing so much business through this - only just discovered it after our booking volumes started falling..
Please Zenners - can you work on this urgently??
Firefox works fine...
Thanks
Cliff
Has anyone figured a workaround to this problem yet? It is affecting us now too.
Ok I have found the problem myself today after re reading my own post believe it or not.....
If you go through using IE8 and set your PRIVACY settings to anything above medium you get the WHOOPS TIMED OUT error message when you go back to your site......
Setting this back down to Medium resolves this issue and normal checkout is resumed.....
NOW ALL WE NEED TO DO IS GET THE BROWSER OR THE CUSTOMER TO ACCEPT FIRST-PARTY COOKIES
there is a setting to override cookies in the browser itself but no way of preventing people or warning them that this needs to be changed to checkout without issue....
Anyone got an idea??????????????????????????????????????????![]()
I don't know if I should tell you all really.....
but I've fixed it over this way.......
FIXED FIXED FIXED FIXED FIXED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no more whoops session expired with IE8 and PAYPAL with ZEN CART
I'm off to sell
Nice to hear it's fixed for someone. We're still getting calls for help from some customers.
Simonbcc, which way did you fix it....?
