product page acting strangly

I look after a zen cart shop for a local football club Its a pretty bog standard installation with image handler 2 for images. Its currently running version 1.3.7

Since yesterday, there have been issues with random category pages (including the front page) not rendering properly.

From speaking to the guy who adds items to the shop, the categories which have began to fail, he hasn't added items to them for ages, although he did add items today and the problems have started.

When the page doesn't render properly, the last HTML which is sent to the browser is

<br class="clearBoth" />

I've got a sneaking suspicion that the issue is caused somehow by images. I've cleared the Image Hander cache but no difference.

Has anyone else has the same issue and if so, how did they resolve it? Looking in the images folder of the site, it appears that they have uploaded images with mixed case, spaces, and special characters but the upload date of these doesn't co-inside with the date of the problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

The main page was fine for me... Sale category, not so much. I did notice when I select to sort the sale page from the dropdown that it then displays the sorted views just fine.

Check the first couple displayed products in the sale category for code errors in their descriptions.

Figured out the issue was caused by the user uploading massive images and image handler not dealing with them very well. Images resized and uploaded and we're working fine.

What I have noticed though is if a category only has one product in it, the system throws up an error...any ideas?
