Confusion about files attributes - 644 changed to 705

Hi,

I´m using zen-cart 1.3.8a on a linux server (GoDaddy hosting) since February 2009. Mostly everything works fine. I´m selling downloads only.

Today, as I was uploading new files to my "downloads" folder, I noticed, that the files in this folder are all CHMOD 705 attributed - they had all been on 644 before! The new files I´m uploading (via FTP) are also 644 by default.
I´m puzzled - what had happened? Is 705 also secure? Do I have to check all my sensitive zen-cart folders if the settings have changed as well?

I checked for example my folder "/includes/languages/english/html_includes – and all files/folders underneath" for safety reasons (as proposed in the "Important Site Security Recommendations") and there, too, all files and folders are now 705 - I definetely had set them to 644.

Any ideas?

Permissions of 705 is defintely an uncommon setting but your Hoster is the one to be asking the questions to; presuming no one else but has access.

Also, you should check the date/time stamp so you know when the changes were made and can also ask your Host about.
