Installation OK but cannot access admin

Hi

I've managed to successfully install Zen Cart by meticulously following the excellent instructions. But when I go to access admin the following message shows in the window:

Warning: require(includes/functions/general.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /misc/38/000/182/289/4/user/web/diy-wedding.co.uk/index_files/admin/includes/init_includes/init_general_funcs.php on line 31

I have followed all the suggestions in the Tutorial 'I can't login to the Admin after insalling Zen Cart', but nothing worked. Novice that I am, I also tried renaming the file 'functions_general.php' to 'general.php' after reading the warning error. but nothing has worked. Any suggestions very welcome as I'm at a standstill.
