1 item per 1 shipping box

Hi,

I understand that the store adds up the weights and calculates how many boxes the order should go into, depending on the weight maximums. I need to have it configured so that it calculates one box per product regardless of the weight. It's this possible? I was looking at the perweightunit mod, but it doesn't seem to coming up with the right prices....I'm not sure what to configure. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

So you do or do not know how much it will cost to ship each item?

I do know the cost of shipping that they are currently being sent out with, but am using the USPS mod, so it might change & i want it to calculate the shipping based on weight and shipping destination. BUT only put each product in one box. At the moment it is packing two products into one box and so the shipping is coming out too low.

I'm sure it is something to do with the Package Tare but I don't know how to configure it so that it just calculates the shipping per item rather than per box. Do I need to adjust the packing weights in the following settings under CONFIGURATION > SHIPPING/PACKAGING?

Bumping this because I would really like to find a solution for the exact same problem.

My client ships cheesecakes, which must be packaged very carefully, and in most cases they can only package one per box.

I have to set the max shipping weight to 9 lbs. for the largest product, but when a customer orders, for example, three 6-lb. products, it tries to ship them in two 9-lb. boxes, which, aside from trying to cut one of the products IN HALF, costs less to ship than three 6-lb. boxes.

(Actually, solving the problem of Zen Cart trying to cut a product in HALF would also solve the problem, forcing each product into its own box. ... Wait, nevermind. Then you could theoretically have two 4-lb. products in one box, which my client still can't do.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
