Default How hard would this be?

Just wondering if anyone can share how this may have been done...its a Zen site, but looks like its all done in tables which I know is supposed to be a no no?

Just curious to see how hard this would be?? Is it something they are doing right in the product description or can all these sections be broken out in the product listing php file somehow?

There is nothing about that site that needs table layout to work. The designer apparently knows how to use/implement a lot of highly customized store functions, but is stuck about 10+ years ago in HTML coding standards. The nested tables mostly don't even have class/id tags to use in styling.

The product info pages are apparently done with a highly customized tpl_product_info_display.php.

That's what I figured...I only use div tags when I do my designs so this site completely confused me when I looked at the source...U guess i will have to really play around in the product info file to see what i can do...I really like this layout!

Unfortunately, there are just some layout formats that simply cannot be reliably configured with css (although it's getting better and easier than it was 5 years ago - and may eventually accommodate all style requirements.)

On some of my sites, I have modified tpl_product_info_display.php to include tables.

I have advised my clients of the potential limitations tables have with various browsing devices these days, but the clients usually opt for cosmetic appearance over cross-platform functionality.

One client has opted to have TWO sites... one configured for conventional platforms and one for mobile devices. There is a detection code that determines the browsing device and redirects as necessary.
