Top Category Image on Subcategory Product Info Page

I've searched the forums and found a lot of questions about how to turn off category images, but none seem to answer the question I have.

I have all of my products in subcategories, and what I would like to do is to assign an image to the top level category and have that image display on the product info pages.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

When you create the sub cat specify the proper image or you can go back and edit the image for the sub cats

Thank you, that does in fact work for the image.

I guess I should have been more specific. When you hover over the image the alt text it displays is for the sub-category. What I would like is for it to either display the top-category name or disable the alt text entirely.
