help question Adding static text to the main page only

I have added a banner in the footer 1 position and used an override to get it to show on the main page only, letting me change the image from the admin section, now the final thing i need to know is:

How can i add a few lines of static text below the banner position? This should stay put even when an image is changed.

I've tried looking for the main page that defines the overall layout, as well as searching through the forum here for answers but to no avail. I'm new to Zen Cart and am a bit lost with this one. Initially i tried uploading an image then linking to it through the HTML box in the banner section with the text underneath, but this negates uploading a new image rendering the whole purpose of it useless.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

    cheers

    Hello,

    Where exactly do you mean?

Just above the image on the main page?

Just below the top banner and above the menu?
    That wasn't the plan!

I suppose you could try adding the text to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php (where YOUR_TEMPLATE is the name of your custom template) and see if that works for you.

help question Re: Adding static text to the main page only

sorry about that, i probably didn't explain it all properly. The site i'm working on is at: http://sitesynth.com/sukas/store/

Where you see the main image there is two lines of text underneath it, currently the image is set as Footer banner 1, purely so it can be changed through the ADMIN section rather than ftp. The text below it is entered into the HTML section of the same banner.

All i want to do is make the text below the main image static on the main page, so as i upload a new image to the banner it is unaffected.

thanks for your replies thus far, i'll give the editing a go.

    cheers

I hope you're using the override system and saved your modified file in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/
