    Default hit counter

    Hi there
    i want to install a HIT COUNTER, to go in the BOTTOM but center of the page.

    now this counter. i can get the html code from a freebie site etc..

    but where do i place it etc..

    You would place the code in tpl_footer.php, I guess, but visible hit counters are so 1990's. Check out Google Analytics if you want real stats.

    ... or use the User Tracking module - a few years old, but works well even on 1.3.8.

    Hits mean absolutely nothing...

    just the boss wanted a way to view who's been on the site..like how many people...
    tbh ill just set him up an admin account and he can log in, so much easier lol

    There are many other ways to track visitor activity - eg WEBTRENDS

    o well, just told him if we put a hit counter onto the website, its hardcoded, and then throws up security errors
    so he dont want it now lol

    That's the better approach, since there's already a traffic counter, which only displays by logging in as an admin.
