Default Linkpoint: Unable to Contact Credit Card Company

    My Domain: www.avsurveillance.com
    My Host: Dreamhost

Store Version: Zen Cart 1.3.8a with patch
    Payment Gateway: Linkpoint/YourPay API

I have met all the requirements in setting up the store configuration yet I am still getting this message upon checkout:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are presently unable to contact the Credit Card company for authorization. Please contact the Store Owner for payment alternatives."

Here are the things I have already done:

    • My host says that Port 1129 is open
    • My host says that cURL is working
    • PEM File was uploaded to includes/modules/payment/linkpoint_api
    • Site is secure with SSL Certificate
    • All the settings in the ZenCart admin setup are correct
    • I called Linkpoint and they said everything is correct on their end.

So then why am I getting this error message?

    FAQ on Linkpoint/FirstData setup: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=298
    Updated version of module: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...490#post563490

Testing connectivity from your server shows successful communications: http://www.avsurveillance.com/store/...hp?linkpoint=1 ... so it should be working fine, unless you've entered your PEM number wrong in your admin settings or incorrectly uploaded the .pem file to the server (or it can't be read for some reason).

Thank you for your help Dr. Byte.

I followed your advice and did the following:

    • I followed all directions in the FAQ on Linkpoint/FirstData setup
    • I overwrote the old linkpoint_api.php file with the new one
    • I double checked to make sure the PEM File had the correct store number and was readable (cmod 644)
    • I made sure the PEM number was the same number in the store admin
    • The PEM File is correctly located in /store/includes/modules/payment/linkpoint_api

And I am still getting the same error message. Any other ideas?
Your advice is very much appreciated!

Ok so I just got a new email from my host saying port 1129 is closed when the previous guy who emailed me said it was open. This might be the problem...

"Thank you for contacting us. Is this a new payment module you have
recently added? Port 1129 is closed. We do not open additional ports on
shared hosting servers such as the one you are on. This is or the curl
proxy issue is the most likely the problem. Or both. We have Curl
installed but do they provide the proxy url? You will need to contact
them for more information. Let them know about the port being closed and
if thats not the issue then ask them about the proxy comment. DreamHost
does not allow proxy application on our servers so they would need to
provide the proxy url via Curl."

    Yikes!
Just one more reason not to use Dreamhost

You can specify CURL proxy settings in Admin->Configuration->My Store. Turn ON the proxy and then specify the proxy URL they've given you.

OMG It is always the smallest tiny little setting that changes everything!!!

I went to Admin > Configuration > My Store > CURL Proxy Status and changed it to False.

Apparently, Port 1129 DOES work on Dreamhost. Two other Dreamhost people told me the Dreamhost email I received was incorrect in stating that it was closed.

    My Store Now Works.

Also, Thank you Dr. Byte for helping all of us across the forums with our Linkpoint connection issues!

I would suggest if you've replaced the file that you also click "Remove" and then "Install" in the module to reset its configurable options. Be sure to write down your settings first so you can re-enter them again.

    Then ...
Go into the LP module's settings in your ZC admin, and turn on the debug Log-to-File option.
    Then do a test transaction.
Then grab the log file from your server's Zen Cart /cache/ folder, and post it here.
