Easier ways of adding new items?

Im selling a large number of individual items. As is, listing these items is a pain in the ... If you are selling 100s of individual items for < 10$ each, many not > 5$, you might understand. In my case only the product name, some descriptions, model number, and image number change with each lot.

Is there any other method of adding new items? I thought about adding them directly to the DB or, even better, listing the items on my local machine then uploading the list. Are these ideas possible? If so, how would I do it? If not, what other methods of adding lots could I try?

See the Easy Populate module. That should help you with adding your products

There is a module - easy populate that many use as it allows use of a spreadsheet.

A bit terse to master but once you have it can be what you are looking for

Forgive the late response. Easy Populate is fantastic!!

I was able to write a simple C++ program to fill in the .csv file with the needed values. Now, I only enter 2 values for each item, a title and model. Most of my items don't have descriptions.

You should really reconsider this as descriptions are a huge benifit to getting your products listed by the SE's

You are right about that.
Im not going to bother with it for individual items that bring only a few $$$. Items I have in bulk or are worth more get more time and attention.

Then there are the product meta descriptions - -
I recently suggested for a person with 10,000+ items - exactly what you are thinking
Attack this for your best sellers first but eventually all items -
Only a few dollars times 100 or 1,000 sales might be more advatageous than alot of dollars times 1 or 2 sales
