    Default Can't change text colour in Flowers Template

    Hi,

    I have searched but cannot find an answer. I am using v1.3.8 and I have installed the Flowers Template. I am working on my site on my PC before I risk uploading it. (I was building my own template but gave up!)

    I've been through the stylesheet, line by line, to change the text colour from orange to the dark blue colour I want to use. I have also changed to a different 'hover' colour.

    My problem is that in the 'Categories' box it all works fine but in every other sidebox the text colour is a bright blue that I cannot find anywhere in the stylesheet. So I cannot work out how to change it. I am using the tool that shows up style information as well so I know I am not missing something in the stylesheet. The bright blue also shows up on the item pages themselves.

    The blue is the one used for links in the 'Classic' template so is it something to do with that? I am still very new to this so any help will be greatly appreciated.

    It's at localhost on my PC so I don't think I can send a link?

    I've also just realised that a lot of the text in the main part of the page has changed to white. As I am using a white background it means the text cannot be read. But I still cannot find it in the stylesheet.

    I had hoped using a template would make this easier

    Found how to sort the white text now - line 16 in the stylesheet. Think I've been looking at it too hard trying to solve my original problem.

    Still cannot find the bright blue color though....

    download a copy of Firefox browser and install the Firebug addon.

    It will save you hours as it can inspect each element on a page and pinpoint the exact line in your CSS file that is controling the properties. It even lets you edit the CSS live on the site, to see what effects they'd have before changing the file.

    Thank you but I've got that - that's why I'm not able to find where to change the colour. It must be something else controlling it but I'm not clever enough to work it out.

    It's the same bright blue as in the Classic template and even though I'm not using that template I changed the colour in that stylesheet just in case it would have an effect but it didn't. It seems to be the link text colour.

    If you are inspecting the actual link with Firebug, it will show the location that is controlling the color. Are you sure you didn't miss something in the list?

    Thank you for the responses so far. I suspect I am missing something simple but I can't work out what. The part in the stylesheet that is setting the text colours for my site says:

    body{ margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; font-family: tahoma, verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; color: #525d7d; background: #ffffff; }
    a{ color: #525d7df; text-decoration: none; }
    a:hover{ color: #9a2720; }

    Any non-link text is the blue I want, if I hover over a link it is the red colour I want. But the colour on any text that is a link as well is the bright blue. I can't find that colour anywhere in the stylesheet. When I put my cursor over any link to see if I can work out where the blue is coming from the text changes to the red I am using for hovering. If you see what I mean?

    Something, somewhere is telling my links to be bright blue text instead of the colour I want but I can't work it out. Could it be that I don't know how to use Firebug properly?

    Just realised I could do a print screen of the problem if that would help anyone to help me?
