Stuck at personal info page - can't get to checkout page

Hello, I've got a head scratcher here. Been working on this one all week and considering a normal install takes considerably less time...I'm frustrated beyond belief. I have several other zen stores but this is the first one on a windows box. Any help would be appreciated.

Problem:
after adding items to the cart I am taken to the personal information page. After I enter my info and hit the submit button, I am not taken to the next page, the current page just refreshes with no error messages. It would appear the account is being created but when I try to login it says the account doesn't exist. Try to use the same email address again in a different order and I get the msg that the account has already been created.

Steps taken:
Installed on a linux server, restored the database and everything works fine.
Installed a fresh version on the windows box, restored the database and the problem still exists.
Tried the debug module but cam up with nothing.

Ideas:
Directory browsing is allowed on this particular host and from what I can tell index.php hasn't been added to the acceptable index files for this hosting account. Would this have anything to do with it?

Sounds like your Windows server has a problem with PHP sessions. It could be related to a bad version of PHP, or a bad PHP configuration. Best to take the matter to your hosting company for assistance.

thanx. forgot to mention that I opened a ticket but we didn't discuss the issues you mentioned, I just assumed that would be something they would check.
