Same product, different varieties and attributes?

I have a product, it has four flavours, each flavour has a different price, description and so on.
I have set up a pulldown to choose the variety, I can get the price to change but want the description to change too so the user can see the difference between them.
Do I have to set up all as individual products (cumbersome) or can I create 1 product then have all different decriptions when user select as different variety from pulldown?

Attributes manage an Option Value Name and Price but not the description ...

You would either have to put the descriptions in on the Product Description or make separate Products for each one ...
