Default Template doesn't change in admin

    Hi all,

Just ran face first into a brick wall, I've just installed a fresh copy of zencart 1.3.8 or what ever the latest version is on my clients server, then I proceeded to copy across the entire zencart file system from my server as I didn't want to just go through all the files and fine my override files (Minus copying over the config files in admin/includes and the catalouge/includes folders).

Once having done this everything seemed fine until I went to change from the standard green template to my custom made one in the admin section. I obviously clicked on my template and hit update and it sent me packing back to the index of the admin area.

Does anyone know of a fix for this or is there a way for me to hard code it into the system so my client doesn't mess around with it at some later stage aswell.

    Thanks alot

    Rick

I'm not sure what your question is. There is no template in the admin. When you select the template for the store, it will change the appearance of the store. The selection process will leave you in the template selection process.

If you are going to continue to administer the site, you can use Admin Profiles by Kuroi to limit your client's access to portions of the admin. You can find it at http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...products_id=86

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant the store template wouldn't change when I accessed it through the admin panel. The original one still stays in place everytime I change it and the change doesn't happen at all in the template seclection area ie the dropdown box still stays on the original template instead of my custom one.

One common contributor to that sort of behavior is installing the recent June 2009 Admin Security patch incorrectly, typically by putting one or more of the files outside the admin folder instead of inside the admin folders as explained in the instructions.

thats interesting, I did add the patch but I followed it to the letter, I'm currently reinstalling zencart again (Third time) and won't bother with that patch just yet to see if I can get it working.

The patch has 5 files. ALL of them go in their respective folders under the /admin/ folder. Including the html_output.php file.

Mmm I reinstalled zencart, didn't worry about the security patch and then uploaded all my files and it works now, I might well of misplaced one of the files into the wrong folder. Thanks for your help DrByte
