Lost all my prices

I was following a thread about using attributes on my test site. I set up a size dropdown with S M L and set various price options. Also at some point I noticed the price in dollars so I deleted all the currency apart from GBP and set it to 1.
Then I noticed all my prices were 0. I thought I made a mistake so I removed all the attributes and they are still 0. It looks fine in admin prices are correct, no attributes remaining. They are not set to price by attribute. I set a new product and priced it at 500 but that shows as 0 as well
It must be something silly but I just cant see it. Can anyone help?

One should be careful when deleting currencies ... you need to be sure to set the default correctly, and make sure your language files use that default correctly as well.
