Call for shipping costs for certain products or region

Hi,
I need to find a way to add higher shipping costs to UK Highlands & Islands which would be the best way?
I have also been asked if a phone for shipping costs button can be added for certain large/bulky products for any region/zone. Is this possible?
Currently shipping is set to tablerate

You could install a second shipping method which would only come in to place when a customer from such region orders.

You can also add the request for quote module and make it so that module would be the only available shipping option if a specific item is in the cart.

Thanks for the reply and the idea it looks as if it will suit well. Just one point if anyone else reads this I didn't replace orders.php in admin/includes/languages/english/ I added the define('TEXT_RQF', 'Request for Quote'); to the existing orders.php. This works well with a region/country but no too sure how to make the request for apply a specific product, any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Can anyone help please.
I am having a slight problem with the RQF. It works well in that if you select a country other than UK you get RQF option only GREAT and if you select UK Highlands and Islands you get RQF only GREAT just what we need, BUT if you select UK Essex you get the option of the tablerate and the RQF not so great --- How can I make sure that the RQF does not appear if UK mainland is selected?
I also would like some guidance on how to use RQF with a single product, so if a selected product was in the cart regardless of other products the RQF would be the only shipping option.
