Default Changing template lost Conditions of Use & Privacy Policy

    Hello everyone,

As you may have read in my other thread, I have switched over to the Red Passion theme as it contains the basic structure I am looking for in my website. However, I have lost my "Conditions of Use" and "Privacy Policy" text. When I switch back to the Classic green Zen template the text returns. So it is clear that something is overriding the Zen .php pages. Is there anyway to make it so that no matter what template I choose that text stays so it would not require re-entry every time?

Luckily I back-up a lot of my text in Word files on my computer and I also load them to my FTP server.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Max

Those 2 define page files, define_privacy.php and define_conditions.php are located /includes/languages/english/html_includes/

I'm guessing you were using the default "classic" template before you switched to "red passion." I believe that the "classic" template has it's own overrides folder for those define pages. The override folder would be a subfolder of html_includes, located here:

    /includes/languages/english/html_includes/classic

The contents of define files in the html_includes folder will be loaded for all templates, except "classic" (when "classic" is enabled, it switches to the versions in its override folder). You can overwrite privacy and conditions files in the html_includes folder with the versions from the "classic" subfolder, and they'll show up in any other template you install.

thanks for the posts so far in this thread. i found the define_privacy.php and put my legal-eez there.

i've verified that my admin > configuration > define page status > define privacy status is set to 1.

where does the privacy policy show up? i don't see it in the footer where i thought it would be.
