Paypal Express - skip Payment Information page

I am in the process of migrating my eCommerce website to Zen Cart. I want to skip page Step 2 - Payment Information when using paypal express.

I in my Paypal Express Checkout config in Admin I have "Express Checkout: Skip Payment Page" enabled to YES and no Gift Certificates/Coupon installed. However, when using Paypal Express it is still displaying Step 2 of 4 - Payment Information.

Are there any extra steps I need to make in order to skip this page?

Sounds like you've got some other customization logic interrupting the normal flow.
The only built-in reasons for it to stop on the payment page would be:
- gift certificates enabled
- coupons enabled
- no payment method selected yet
- admin switch in express set to not skip payment options page

Also, you said "Step 2 of 4", but Zen Cart out of the box has 3 steps, not 4. That sounds even more like you've got some sort of addon/customization breaking things.

Thank you Dr Byte. I'm using a template called "Comstock", so maybe that explains the extra fourth step and the checkout brokeness. Thanks

The good news is that the Comstock template is using the 3 step checkout that standard Zen Cart uses, except that it is also counting the Order Completed page, i.e., the one that says whether the order was successful or unsuccessful, so is showing as 4 step checkout.

I have a clean test Zen Cart install, so I'll add the Comstock template to that and see how it looks.

I've tested "Express Checkout: Skip Payment Page" on a clean test zen install - no templates, no modifications, just a standard, fresh zen cart install. I have un-installed coupons and gift certificates. I have set "Express Checkout: Skip Payment Page" to enabled (yes) *AND* "Express Checkout: Select Cheapest Shipping Automatically" to enabled (yes), the Paypal Express checkout process will skip the payment page (and the shipping page), but if I have "Express Checkout: Select Cheapest Shipping Automatically" set to "no", the express checkout process will not skip the payment page.

Is there any way to have the shipping page active and the payment page inactive for Paypal Express checkout? Some of our customers order online and then come to our store to collect their orders, so we have two shipping options; collection and zone rates. We also offer local deliveries and don't charge shipping for this.
