Admin Layout Box Issue

I have a new install of 1.3.8a on Host Gator. I am trying to make changes to the default Classic theme by turning off some of the side boxes in tools/layout boxes controller. I can get into the edit screen for each of the current boxes, turn it off and update. But the changes don't record. When I go back into the tools/layout boxes controller they are still on.

I have checked the permissions on my folders against the install FAQ and all are set correctly. I think it is a permission issue but can't find it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Would not be a folder or file permission as these actions are only recorded in the DB - or should be

Don't leave - see if after update they toggle to off

After I hit update the screen refreshes to th index page. It does no stay on the layout boxes controller page.

I have the Google Checkout module installed. Don't know if that caused the issue since I added it before I tried turning off the side boxes.

Looping can be from many issues
Better post your details
Zen ver
server stuff etc

BTW: as you develop always make backups - files and DB before changing or installing anything - so you have a fall back position
Will save your "bacon" especially after you have hours invested

Zen 1.3.8a full fileset. Hosted on Host Gator, Linux CentOS 5.3, Apache 2.2.13, PHP 5.2.4. Only the Google Checkout addon. The Zen install includes the demo records.

Try reloading the admin files first and if not fixed remove the addon and check
