Problems with removing Sales Text

I followed the instructions on the FAQ page and on some threads here and simply removed the sales text strapline (leaving the punctuation so I've got:

define('HEADER_SALES_TEXT', '');

But now I have
HEADER_SALES_TEXT in my header! I can't get rid of it. Any help would be great!

define('HEADER_SALES_TEXT', '');

Make sure that's two single quote marks and not one quotation mark. Other than that, it should work.
