buy it now buttons missing

okay i actually have asked this before after researching but my buy it now or add to cart buttons are gone. It seems when i start adding catagories and or items. THe button exists in the folder they are not css buttons and i have done these things

1) Under the admin panel My Store-> Store status -> set to normal and check if you could see the buttons.
2) Under the admin panel Configuration-> layout Setting check you are using CSS buttons or no.
3)Make sure the buttons in the correct folder and are correctly configured.

the 1st time i applied these measures it worked. but now after adding the items the buy it now buttons have gone missing

please help

okay. looks like a discription has to be inputed or the buy it now button won't show up.... is this cause of my design?

Do your items have attributes? (Size, color, etc.) If so, Buy Now
won't work.
