Continental United States Shipping Only

Hi,

I only want to ship products to the 48 continental United States. No international shipping nor Alaska or Hawaii. How do I set that up - that the United States is the only country I ship to?

Easiest way is to back up your database, then run this in Admin - Tools - Install SQL Patches :

DELETE from countries WHERE countries_iso_code_3 NOT IN('USA');

That will remove all countries except USA. Then go to Admin - Locations/Taxes - Zones and manually remove Alaska and Hawaii (and some others like Puerto Rico).

Now if I run that SQL command, what if in the future, we change shipping policy and we want to ship internationaly, then what do I do?

Well Ajeh~

You seem to be in the middle of all of the discussions around setting up shipping. I've tried following all of the instructions that I've seen and I still have issues.

Here is what I have and it's driving me nuts (and costing me money)

Free shipping in 48+DC if the order is over $300 (using free options)
Set it up with a zone that I made for 48+DC only

Otherwise, shipping is $11.95 flat rate per item. I only ship to the US so International is a none issue. I have that sent up with no zone attached (I tried making one with 48+ DC + AK and HI but when I attached it, it said that we weren't shipping to that location- no matter where)

No matter what I do, Free shipping is offered to Alaska customers.

What detail am I missing?

FYI, I also have a zone set up for SC but that's just for tax purposes.

Please help!!

Peek in the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping ... and see if you have set that to Free Shipping over $XX.XX ... and if so, turn that off ...

Also, what shipping modules do you have installed?

That did the trick. I knew it had to be one setting somewhere!

All I have installed as far as shipping modules was the flat rate and free options- I guess that's why I was frustrated, it wasn't even anything complicated!!
