cart error Customising the basket page

    Hi All

Is there a way of customising the basket page with the Zen Cart?

Basically I want to add a fitting device (by default), to the basket page, for the products I sell online, thereby saving customers a seperate trip to that particular page.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks in advance.

If this is the same question that you asked before, the answer is the same, too. There's no way to automatically add a product to a customer's order without custom coding.

In a similar situation, we just raised the product price a little and threw the additional item in for free when the order was packed.

It's ia a similar question, but not the same.

I pointed out to my managers that if customers order several products they would by default be coerced into ordering several of the same products. I then came up with the idea of adding to the basket page - so as to make it a one off.

Do you know which file on the Zen Cart I would have to hard code to achieve this?

No, but it wouldn't just be one file.

There's some logic here that might be adaptable to what you want, or you might look at other mods to see if there's something you could redo for your situation.

Thanks Steve, that does look like a possible solution.

If that doesn't work out, you might have a look at thatsoftwareguy.com. He offers many mods, some free, some not. Some of them are specifically for implementing the sort of logic involving adding something to the basket if something else is purchased. I can't recall if he has one already made that will do exactly what you need, but you can ask.

(I have no monetary affiliation with him, I should add. I just like his mods.)
