custom template

I have been reading the book and the forum and the wiki on the override system.

but i am still not clear on it and would like some simple straight forward advice.

'when i create a custom temp, i create a directory name ''x'' and place in in the includes/languages directory along with the classic and english directory' but when i am testing this on my local server, and i go to Admin>tools>template selection the directory does not appear.

once i can get the directory to appear, i can then continue with the rest.

and is it <zc_install>/includes or
includes/languages
????

ok i have found the custom template but the template name is the same as the other one, how do i change the template name.??

The template name is specified in template_info.php. You'll need to edit that file.

i see it but what if i have the default template and my own template, where do i edit in that file?
