Gift Card Problem

My gift cards can be purchased as a regular product, but discount codes shouldn't be valid on gift card purchases. Is there anyway to block discount code access during gift card shopping process?

If you were to setup your Gift Certificates as designed in Zen Cart, they would not be allowed to be discounted with a Discount Coupon ...

Gift Certificates are distinguished as a special type of Product by setting the Product as:

Product is Virtual: Yes, Skip Shipping Address

and the Products Model must start with, in CAPS, the word: GIFT

Now the Product will be recognized as a Gift Certificate, which is treated as "Cash" and not be able to be discounted with a Discount Coupon ...
