No shipping on item in specific zone

I have browsed through the forum and have not found the fix for my specific issue.

My shipping is calculated by total price of order and shipping zone.

I have an item that when shipped to a specific zone (US) i do not want its cost to effect the shipping cost formula.

so if a $5 shirt is shipped to US there is no but any where else shipping should be applied. Is this possible

I am using Zen Cart v1.3.8a/v1.3.8
Also I am using the Zone Rates shipping module.

You would need to customize the code to check for this Product in the cart and remove its price from the order total that is being used by the Zone Rate zones shipping module ...

Is this the only Product that you need to do this for?
