After updating the security patch it gives me a security warning on the frontpage of my store that my configure.php is writable. After checking the permission is set to 644 but I still get the warning at shop front
Can someone help me with this

Sometimes 644 isn't low enough to make the file read-only. Check with your hosting company for the setting that's most suitable for *your* server.

I checked with my host and they changed it to 444 and now it works. Is there any FTP program that will be able to change the file permissions? I use filezilla now and that didn't seem to work

It's not the FTP program, it's your host's server settings. Windows servers especially often don't allow FTP permissions changes. Sometimes you can use your control panel's file manager.
