Error in installing

What should be the problem on this?
Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in E:\wamp\www\shop\includes\application_top.php on line 18

Im trying to install zencart 1.3.8a on my localhost, this is the first time to do it and this error comes. Im also using wamp and already updated the PHP, Apache and MySQL versions.

Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

I'm hoping someone can assist me on installing Zen-Cart 1.3.8a on a clean-install WAMP server on XP.

Apache 2.2.11
PHP 5.3.0
MySQL 5.1.36

When I attempt the zc_install, Apache will crash with the error:
Faulting application httpd.exe, version 2.2.11.0, faulting module php_mysql.dll, version 5.3.0.0, fault address 0x00002072.

I have installed the recommended patch to ZC 1.3.8a as posted in a prior thread regarding the problem PHP 5.3.0 was causing to no avail. I still get the same error.

My WAMP setup does work as I can run regular PHP scripts, phpmyadmin, etc. Only when trying to install ZC will it crash.

I can duplicate the error by using a custom test php script that simply attempts a mysql_close(). My test script will function properly when I pass the db connection: mysql_close($dbc)

This is a vanilla install. I am new to ZenCart and preparing to update a current install on a separate machine. I expect the ISP to upgrade to PHP 5.3 sometime soon so I want to prepare for the worst from what I am reading on this forum about 5.3

I am starting the install from scratch. Creating an empty database and going down the install instructions step-by-step. It's about as simple an install as I think I can get it.

Please help. I ran out of options.
